2024 Convention Follow Up Notes

The Montgomery County Association of Township Officials (MCATO) is excited to announce the election of a brand new executive committee! This dynamic shift in leadership marks a fresh and exciting chapter for the organization, bringing together a diverse group of experienced leaders dedicated to empowering township officials across Montgomery County.

Elected by MCATO members during the recent fall convention (October 29th), the new committee boasts a wealth of expertise in township administration, community planning, public policy, and advocacy. Their combined knowledge and commitment to strengthening township operations will be instrumental in tackling the unique challenges and opportunities facing Montgomery County’s townships.

Meet the New MCATO Leadership:

  • President: Beth Staab (Montgomery Township)
  • 1st Vice President: Joyce Snyder (Towamencin Township)
  • 2nd Vice President: DJ DeSanto (E. Norriton Township)
  • Secretary: Joyce Keller (Whitpain Township)
  • Treasurer: Cathy Pagano (Lower Gwynedd Township)
  • PSATS Delegate 1: Bill Jenaway (Upper Merion Township)
  • PSATS Delegate 2: Karen Lynch (Skippack Township)

Building Stronger Communities Through Collaboration

Beth Staab, the newly elected president, emphasizes the importance of collaboration between MCATO and municipal leaders.

“We’re all here to share ideas, best practices, and solutions to the challenges we face,” she says. “Our focus is on ensuring efficient, transparent, and accountable governance. By fostering a space for networking and knowledge-sharing, we aim to build stronger, more effective local governments that can better serve the needs of our communities now and in the future.”

Our Organization

MCATO, or the Montgomery County Association of Township Officials, is a successor organization of the Supervisors and Auditors Association of Montgomery County.

The organization was formed at an Association Convention held in New Hanover Township on February 24, 1977.
