
Tanya Bamford
PSATS Delegate 2 – Tanya Bamford, Montgomery Township
Tanya Bamford was sworn in to serve on the Montgomery Township Board of Supervisors in 2018. Now in her second term, she holds a leadership position on the Board. Montgomery Township is one of the county’s largest municipalities, ranking among the top ten by population, with more than 25,000 residents and over 1,100 businesses.
A resident of Montgomery Township since 2002, Tanya brings a background in public policy, communications, and organizational leadership to her work in local government. She is a graduate of West Virginia University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.
In addition to her elected service, Tanya is the President of Bamford Strategies, a strategic marketing and communications firm serving businesses and nonprofit organizations across the United States. Her professional experience informs her approach to governance, particularly in the areas of strategic planning, fiscal oversight, stakeholder engagement, and public communication.
Tanya serves as the Board of Supervisors’ liaison to several Township bodies, including the Montgomery Township Municipal Sewer Authority, the Business Development Partnership Committee, and the Human Relations Commission. She also serves on the boards of the Montco Foundation and the North Wales Area Library, and was appointed by the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners to the county workforce development board, MontcoWorks.
Tanya was elected to serve as one of two Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors (PSATS) delegates representing the Montgomery County Association of Township Officials (MCATO). In this role, she serves on the MCATO Executive Committee and works collaboratively with municipal leaders across the county to advance effective local governance and advocate for township interests at the state level.
