  • PennDOT Awards $47 Million for Multimodal Transportation Grants: PennDOT has awarded $47 million in Multimodal Transportation Fund grants to 54 projects across 34 counties to improve transportation assets and pedestrian safety.   • Need Some $$ for the 2026 Budget? Check for Unclaimed Property!: The PA Treasury Department encourages townships to search the unclaimed property database for uncashed checks, insurance refunds, and other funds that may be owed to them.   • Bivens Nominated to Head State Police: Lt. Col. George Bivens has been named Acting Commissioner of the Pennsylvania State Police effective December 31, 2025, following the retirement of Col. Christopher Paris. (https://www.psats.org/bivens-nominated-to-head-state-police/)
  • IRS Announces 2026 Business Mileage Rate: The Internal Revenue Service has announced that the 2026 standard mileage rate for the business use of a vehicle will be 72.5 cents per mile, an increase of 2.5 cents from 2025. (http://psats.org/irs-announces-2026-business-mileage-rate/)

The organization was formed at an Association Convention held in New Hanover Township on February 24, 1977.
