October 2025 PSATS Update

October 31, 2025 by mcatoorgstg

Here’s a roundup of the latest news and resources for Pennsylvania townships and boroughs:

Grants and Funding

  • Active Transportation Planning Grants Awarded: Several municipalities have received grants to help fund their active transportation planning projects, supporting safer and more accessible walking and biking routes. (https://www.psats.org/municipalities-receive-grants-to-help-with-active-transportation-plans/)
  • Public Safety Partner Grants Available: New grant funding is available specifically for public safety partners. Townships are encouraged to explore these opportunities to enhance their emergency services and preparedness. (https://www.psats.org/grants-available-for-public-safety-partners/)

Training and Technology

  • AI for Public Good Conference: A conference focused on “Unlocking AI for Public Good” is scheduled to take place in both Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. This is a valuable opportunity for local officials to learn how Artificial Intelligence can improve municipal services and efficiency. (https://www.psats.org/unlocking-ai-for-public-good-conference-slated-for-pittsburgh-philadelphia/)

Administrative and Planning

  • 2026 Board of Supervisors Organization Meeting Date: The date for the 2026 Board of Supervisors’ organizational meeting has been confirmed. Townships should mark their calendars and prepare for this annual requirement. (https://www.psats.org/2026-board-of-supervisors-organization-meeting-date-confirmed/)
  • Evaluate PennDOT: Townships have an opportunity to participate in a survey or feedback mechanism to evaluate their experiences working with PennDOT. This is a chance to provide input on essential road and infrastructure partnerships. (https://www.psats.org/want-to-evaluate-penndot/)

We hope this update provides valuable information for Montgomery County townships. Please check the PSATS website for more news and resources.
